For many Formula 1 fans, Westfield is most famous for being a sweeping right-hander on the Brands Hatch grand prix circuit. But on Saturday, the only Westfield that mattered was the London shopping mall, which played host to Lewis Hamilton, Heikki Kovalainen and the prestigious public launch of the Marks & Spencer Living The Dream range of childrenswear.
With crowds gathering for the event since the early morning, the arrival of Lewis and Heikki to kick off proceedings brought hysteria from the floor. Both drivers made a real impact on their arrival, immediately jumping in to enthusiastically sign autographs for the massed fans before making their way to the stage to catch the fashion show showcasing the huge range of styles and colours available in the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes-inspired the Living The Dream range.
After the fashion show, both Lewis and Heikki answered questions from the on-stage MC before chatting with fans and signing more autographs.
Commenting on the successful launch of Living The Dream, Lewis said: "It was great to be a part of such an exciting event today. The crowds were really fantastic and you could tell they really appreciated the clothes. It's a fantastic range that I think a lot of kids will love to wear."
Heikki added: "I couldn't believe how many people were here today! I've really enjoyed my whole experience with Marks & Spencer and Living The Dream and it's amazing to finally see the clothes on the catwalk and in the stores. I really hope people enjoy the range."
