A handful of lucky members of the Lewis Hamilton Fan Club enjoyed the trip of a lifetime last Thursday when they won a fan club competition to gain access to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the McLaren Technology Centre and a visit with Lewis himself!
Ten lucky fan club members were successfully chosen at random from the entries received, writing in 50 words why they should be selected to meet Lewis. The competition winners and their guests were invited to Woking last week for the visit, which included access to the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes race team headquarters and the famous boulevard, which features a stunning display of legendary McLaren cars from the 1960s to the present day, including Lewis's 2008 World Championship winning MP4-23.
To top off their day, Lewis met the group to chat individually with all his guests and to happily sign autographs and have photographs taken with the lucky winners.
The event marked the first time that members of Lewis's fan club have been to the MTC, and the feedback from the day was outstanding:
"To meet Lewis Hamilton was a dream come true. He is extremely down to earth and a very, very nice person too. We were very impressed by the way he likes to spend time with everyone. We will be cheering you on in 2010."
