I was so excitied for the season to begin in Melbourne GP and Qualifying got off to a fantastic start!
I managed to gain Pole Position. Unfortunately the race didn't pan out as I had hoped.
The Malayasian GP was the first win of the season and it felt great!
The 'Battle of Bahrain'. One of the most exciting races of the season so far
Crossing the line to take my second victory in a row
With my team after the win in Bahrain
It was fantastic to get a hat-trick of wins!
Going into the Spanish Grand Prix everything was working well for me and I was feeling really strong
Things got better as I held on to get another pole!
It was amazing to win the Spanish Grand Prix and even better to win four races in a row!!
I came into the Monaco GP full of confidence and hoping to push on with my World Championship challenge. Unfortunately there were a few issues in Qualifying...
I pushed and pushed throughout the race but I just couldn't get the luck I needed
Unfortunately I had to settle for second. It was a tough race but a decent result.
I was really looking forward to Montreal as it's a track where I have always performed well at. Qualifying was frustrating again as I could only get second...
And things didn't get much better when I had to retire due to brake problems
After a DNF you focus extra hard to get as good a result as possible.
Qualifying was a nightmare and I ended up with P9
So to end up with P2 I was happy.
Racing infront of your home crowd is so special and that is why Silverstone is such an incredible race weekend for me.
Qualifying was a disaster and I can still only apologise to the fans for what was an error in judgement!
The crowd were amazing all weekend!
It was great to hold the great gold trophy with my team at the factory!
Going into Germany I felt really confident I could get another winning streak together...
Unfortunately luck was, once again, not on my side and I had to Qualify from the back of the grid...
I congratulated Nico for winning his home Grand Prix and I was so happy that we could get both cars on the podium, especially as I had to start from the back! 3rd was a good result for me.
My Qualifying had not been up to scratch so I really wanted to focus and pray that I got some good luck...
However, something with the car went wrong again and I couldn't believe it! I was gutted and really had to dig deep to go out there and give everything I had!
To finish 3rd was a really great result considering I started in the pits. I will go away now and use this break to recover so I can come back and really push for this World Championship!!
