Hello lewis - how easy will it be to get used to Pirelli tyres next year when you have been using Bridgestone for a while? kay x

Answer:

It’s going to be a tricky one because, obviously, I haven’t driven on anything other than Bridgestone since I’ve been in Formula 1. But one of the skills of being a Formula 1 driver is that you can adapt to different circumstances – whether that’s a new car, or adapting your style to drive in the wet, or on a drying surface. I’ve usually been able to get to grips with new situations fairly quickly, and it’s the same for all the drivers in Formula 1, so I don’t think it will be a problem. The issue will be more about getting enough data during the end-of-season test, and next year’s winter tests, so that the engineers understand how the tyres will affect car balance and set-up.
